Welcome Everyone

The Iocaine Project is a semi-weekly Podcast focused on all things
entertainment.  We discuss movies, books, internet news and links,
music, science, technology, beer, sports, and other random musings.
While topics vary, all shows end with a hotseat question and answer session, culminating in The Final Question - an ongoing creative story written by members of The Iocaine Project. Finally, the ever popular mashup appears at the show's end.

How it works

There are several recurring themes to The Iocaine Project podcast. These are some of the most common:

• Movies - Some of us have a Movie Night tradition each week, so this is
  one of the most regular topics. We all watch a given movie in the week
  leading up to the show, then in a round-table we each give a review of
  the movie itself. Once everyone has had their say, there is generally
  follow-up discussion which may lead on to other topics.
  
  
• Around the Intarwebs - Each of us notes a few links of interest that we've seen around that vast series of tubes we call the Internet. These can come from anywhere, since we all end up reading different sites and news aggregators weekly. This can sometimes be replaced by one specific topic that is designated in advance.
  
  
• Books - One member of The Iocaine Project reads from a selection of their choice. This is featured in nearly every show.
  
  
• Music - We tend to prefer independent music. These are bands that are signed to smaller, lesser known labels that do not have large corporate sponsorship (RIAA). Therefore, they do not tend to be heard on large, corporate-sponsored radio stations. This is our chance to talk about these bands we like, and hopefully generate some interest in them, as well as independent music in general.
  
  
• The Hotseat - A question and answer section, putting one person on the hotseat each week. This is always the last segment we do, and culminates in the Final Question
  
  
• The Final Question - An ongoing creative story written by the members of The Iocaine Project. The question is answered by a different person each week.
  
  
• The Mashup - A semi-random compilation of statements and phrases taken from the show and mixed together. The more out-of-context, the better.

There is no set time limit to our show, so it may run long on some weeks and short on others depending on our schedules and our collective interest in the topics at hand. The shows are available at the download page.
